I believe my Grandfather, Daniel Ferguson, was on board the provident and assisted in the rescue of some 71 survivors from the HMS Formidable. He received a medal from King George for his bravery.

My Grand father was on the boat during the rescue, as a stow away! he was Cher pillar an too young to go to sea at the time, the nephew of the captain
