S S Kurdistan
From Beryl Talbot 24/6/2008
My father was First Officer of the Kurdistan which was NOT a passenger ship. He was awarded the Oak Leaf for saving the Commodore etc. by jumping into the sea to bring a lifeboat alongside. I have details of the rescue.

I have a feeling that this was the ship on which Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen's relative served. I think that he may have been the Captain. They talked about it on a recent Who Do You Think You Are?
