HMS Ajax

Could anyone tell me if HMS Ajax was in Plymouth in 1888? An ancestor was largely based on HMS Cambridge in Plymouth between 1886 and 1892. But did a spell on Ajax 20 Jan 88 & 16 April 88. Was this in Plymouth on 20 Feb 1888
