HMS VENOMOUS - a Plymouth ship
From Bill Forster 27/3/2010
My interest in this old V & W Class destroyer stemmed from my father, Lt(E) William Redvers Forster (1900-75), having joined it after a major refit at Silley Cox & Co in Falmouth in 1944.
But this led to my rashly offering to publish a new edition of a book about HMS VENOMOUS first published twenty years ago by the then CO of TS VENOMOUS in Loughborough.
Three year later the new edition (three times the length of the old and with ten times the number of photographs) will be published on the 14 April with a book launch at the RN MUseum in Portsmouth.
HMS VENOMOUS was a Plymouth ship during World War II and some of the relatives of those who served on the ship are still living in the Plymouth area.
The reason for this posting are two fold:
1. I would like anybody with an interest in HMS VENOMOUS to contact me by e-mail as I intend to continually update the new edition as material comes to hand on a web site I am developing.
2. I would like to extend an invitation to such members to attend he book launch at Portsmouth.
