Vic Ellis painting
From bridget 14/7/2010
A Vic Ellis oil paining has come into my possession which I find interesting because it is 'two paintings for the price of one' and totally contrasting in both subject matter and paint texture. The framed side for viewing is a view of an estuary painted almost delicately in grays and blues - water and sky colours - with no boats at all; the other side, which has not been covered up in the framing, is a strong picture of a ship in full sail on choppy waters, the whole being with thicker oil paint applied with a palette knife. Both paintings are signed.

This picture can be found on a local auctioneer's site. The executors hope it will go to an appreciative home.
