In the spring the lock gates at Cumberland basin were replaced, the original oak gates being a century old. Lets hope the new ones also last a century! The docks themselves are 200 years old this year.

The luxury vessel Harmony II is now based in Bristol. She has fine 1950's lines, and will nicely complement Balmoral in winter. She has had a somewhat unusual role as a hotel furniture sales and promotion vessel, before her new owners brought her to Bristol for the corporate entertainment trade. Harmony II
SMS Emden letter sent back to Oz
HMS Flying Fox, the RNVR unit at Bristol, returned a letter asking for the surrender of SMS Emden in 1914, that has hung on its walls for many years, to the Australian authorities in a suitable ceremony.
