Gorran Haven Crabber

The Gorran Haven crabber was the finer of all the ones Oke measured up, in this case the 1881-built Cuckoo, constructed by the local builder J. Pill. At 16ft 5in she was smaller than all the others. It’s worth mentioning that similar craft worked out of Coverack and Porthloe, the latter, like Sennen Cove and Cadgwith, having a communal capstan, as in Penberth, to haul the boats away from the waves.
