We have two regular publications, both of which are free to members:
Soundings – our newsletter covering maritime history in the South West.
Maritime South West – our annual journal publishes the latest research by our members and subject matter experts.
From time to time, we publish monographs for sale; a list of these are to be found here
Finally, we have our archive for our Blogs: Floating About and Floating Around.
Soundings
Our newsletter, Soundings, is published four times a year, and contains short articles of interest, book reviews and information about our members, events and activities. Soundings is distributed to members as part of their subscription.
Past editions of Soundings from 2010 to 2021 are available to download here.
For earlier editions, please get in touch.
Information about activities, letters, short articles, reviews and other contributions should be sent to the editor, Maggie Watkinson: editor.soundings@swmaritime.org.uk
Maritime South West
We publish Maritime South West once a year in July. Its aim is to further the interest in, and development of maritime history. Articles are written by members and experts, about topics of current and historic interest. Members receive a copy as part of their subscription, as well as having access to all 40 previous issues which you can see here. Click here to review the archive (members can download copies, non-members can buy copies for £15.00).
